Joana Maçanita and António Maçanita were strangers to this vast region, steeped in tradition, customs, and techniques. They arrived in the Douro with open eyes, eager to explore and discover its diversity. Over the years, Maçanita Vinhos has showcased the Douro region's diverse terroir in its purest and most authentic form through its wines.
 
Maçanita Vinhos is located on the right bank of the Douro, in the heart of the Douro, 20 minutes from Pinhão in the Cima Corgo subregion. With a history of nearly 150 years, the grapes are ripened with a distinctive character using non-interventionist viticulture, without herbicides, and according to the rules of integrated production. The recovery of these ancestral vineyards is one of Maçanita Vinhos's main goals.
 
It's a small winery that produces approximately 80,000 bottles annually, including red, white, and rosé wines. More recently, it has focused on producing port wine, which remains a closely guarded secret.
