Quinta Valle Longo Vintage 2016
Classic ruby colour. Very good aroma with black floral notes and light minerality. Balanced in the mouth, the tannins ensure longevity but with the ripe fruit to allow it to be tasted now.
Valle Longo is a very old quinta, located in Cima Corgo right next to the Douro River. The fields were replanted in the 1980s with only three varieties; Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz. The fields have A classification.
The year 2016 is termed Exceptional and is emphasized that it is only the fourth fully declared since the year 2000 and the first time since the already legendary vintage 2011!
Food pairing
Goes very well with strong cheeses such as Roquefort, blue cheeses and Portuguese Serra (Portuguese sheep cheese). It can also be served with fruit or chocolate desserts, and fits perfectly with a good cigar
Grapes: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela, Sousão, Tinta Barroca & Tinto Cão
Store & Serve
Store horizontally, at a constant temperature away from intense direct light. Because this wine is still ripening on the bottle, sediment can be formed with time, so that the wine has to be decanted for consumption.
After decanting, the wine will quickly reach its peak and is best consumed during the course of the next 3 days. Drink at 16º C - 18º C
