Quinta de Roriz is one of the oldest and finest estates in the Douro and has been owned by the van Zeller family since 1815. Quinta de Roriz was the first Douro vineyard to produce and sell wines under its own name. Over 180 years ago, Roriz had already gained international recognition for the quality of its wines. In 1828, Roriz Ports were already fetching the highest prices at London auctions
This vintage 2005 port of Quinta de Roriz is opaque, deep purple in color, a rich aroma of blackberries and black cherries some hints of herbs and cedar wood. On the palate, it has complex flavours of rich black chocolate, ripe red fruits and a fine finish of peppery tannins that will give great ageing potential
