This Madeira has a deep amber color with a subtle hint of green. A very elegant nose, of walnut and hazelnut aromas complemented with mineral notes. Full and powerful semi-dry wine. A long finish of dried fruit, vanilla and an invigorating acidity. Simply sublime.
Food-pairing
Walnut bread with manchego cheese and Spanish ham such as jamon de Serrano.
Roast duck with dark chocolate gravy
Grapes: Terrantez
Terrantez vines, one of the oldest grape varieties in the world, produce very low yields of high quality grapes and wines. There is little incentive in Madeira to plant new Terrantez vines, so that the wines have become a rare commodity.
