Caves Messias is a historic family owned producer renowned for their colheita and vintage ports. A very nice 2008 Colheita Port that has a deep red colour with brownish glaze. The aroma is rich in ripe fruit with a touch of spice and vanilla notes. In the mouth it is fresh and balanced with a presence of silky tannins. It has a long and refreshing finish making it ideal for that after dinner treat.

Colheita's are seen as Tawny's of very high quality. Comes from a single harvest and has spent at least 7 years in French oak barrels of approximately 550 liters. Colheita port wine represents less than 1% of the total annual production of port. Like Vintage, a Colheita port is only released when the best conditions are met and after approval of the IDVP (Instituto dos Vinhos do Douro e do Porto)

Food-Pairing

Excellent as an aperitif, with dried fruits and light sweet desserts (crème brûlée)

Store & Serve

Store horizontally at a constant temperature of 12 °C.

Can be conserved for 6 to 8 weeks after opening. Serve at 14 - 17 °C
