Very deep, very opaque color with beautiful purplish reflections. Elegant, powerful and intense aroma, especially of fresh, ripe fruits such as blackcurrant, plum and blackberry, as well as balsamic aromas of cedarwood, resin, heather and chocolate. In the mouth it presents itself very fruity, with an excellent structure, balanced and full of refined tannins, followed by a nice long lasting finish
Food pairing
Ideal after meals. Goes very well with strong cheeses such as, Stilton, Gorgonzola, Roquefort, blue cheeses and Portuguese Serra (Portuguese sheep cheese). It can also be served with fruit or chocolate desserts, and fits perfectly with a good cigar.
Grapes: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Francisca, Tinta Barroca, Souzão, Tinto Cão, Tinta Amarela
The year of 2014 began with a mild winter, passing through a hot spring and a cooler and milder summer, which allowed the vineyards to have better maturation conditions, resulting in a balanced must and with a good concentration of polyphenols. Produced from the grape varieties of Touriga Nacional, a mixture of grape varieties from old vines, Tinta Barroca and Sousão, the result was a portwine with an intense colour, aromas of red fruits, well-structured and fresh.
