Silva Reis. Only if you have an exceptionally good wine year are vintage ports made, using only wine from that particular wine year. This SILVA REIS LBV was only bottled after aging in barrels for at least 5 years. Afterwards, the port continues to age in the bottle with a minimal loss of color and aroma compared to a port stored in the container. The aging process is extremely slow, certainly in the first 10 years. This Porto SILVA REIS L.B.V. 2012 stems from a selection of only the best wines.
