In Portugal this plump, juicy white port is served on the rocks with a twist, or just well chilled. Rich, plummy-vanilla flavors with a flash of sweetness make this wine a delicious aperitif.
The company was founded in 1862, under the name Correa Ribeiro e Filhos and has carried the seal of a long-time supplier to the portuguese Royal House. Its present name was defined between 1933 and 1957 when Mr. Clemente da Silva received the company through marriage. At that time to develop export markets, his first steps directed him to markets in Brazil and North America, but soon took him to other markets in Europe and Asia. Today, C. da Silva continues to produce distinguished port wines with high-quality standards under the DALVA brand, which is based on the founder's last name of 'da Silva.'
