This is a wine for special occasions that combines the universal culture of wine and art, via the reproduction of original works of art on its labels. This powerful red wine has exhibits hints of black fruit jam with spices, like black pepper & cloves, combined with notes of coffee berries and cigars. In the mouth, it is intense and dense, but with robust tannins, affording it structure and complexity and suggesting good potential for aging in the bottle. Every year, an artist is ordered to make a new label for the bottle.

The first wine made by Esporão in 1985. Obtained from grapes grown at Herdade do Esporão, it shows the consistency and rich character typical of the best Alentejo wines

The 2019 agricultural year recorded temperatures corresponding to the average for the last 20 years, while the recorded rainfall values were below the average values for the same period. In the spring and up until the beginning of the summer, temperatures were higher than in 2018, which led to a considerable advance in the phenology of the vine, translating into the anticipation of the harvest in about 2 weeks, compared to 2018. The summer registered lower temperatures in the veraison phase, promoting a constant and homogeneous ripening process, ideal conditions for raw material of excellent quality.

Matured for 12 months in 60% American oak and 40% French oak barrels. After bottling, the wine ripens in the bottle 8 months before being put on the market
