"Portugal continues to be a source of interesting and great value wines with wonderful grape varieties such as the Castelão that makes this rich, seriously structured red. It has an intense strawberry character, ripe, round but with kick on the finish. If this were from Italy or France, you would be paying more." Tom Doorley, The Irish Mail on Sunday, 5th December 2021
Food pairing

An organic wine from vineyards located about 300 metres above sea level with diverse sun orientation and soil composition. Sandstone soils alternate with marl, ferrous and limestone loamy soils as well as gravel deposits.T his sandy soil has been formed over the centuries by all the sand washed ashore by the Tagus and Sado rivers. The soil is called "Pliocenico de Pegoes". n connection with this optimum microclimate, these are ideal requirements for the cultivation of this particular type of vine. After a night of crio-maceration, the vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks with temperature control where the wine is refined for 5 months, after which the wine matures for 12 months in French and American oak barrels.

Aged for a year in wood, this is a concentrated and smooth wine. There is a touch of spice that gives the wine complexity, allowing room for the wine's ripe tannins. This fine wine is ready to drink.
