Red wine, dark in color, reminiscent of the color of the grape skin. Aromas of the forest and the flavors of very ripe fruit and subtle notes of honey. Voluminous, firm tannins and a taste that is softened by the evolution in barrel, but complex due to the large variety of grape varieties. The volume sensation and the tannins of this wine make the taste buds susceptible to dialogue with the food.
The drought of the land, compensated by the humidity of the Atlantic winds at the end of the ripening, made the primary aromas of the grapes give a greater complexity to the wine
Quinta da Serradinha is a very old estate located 18 kilometers from the Atlantic Ocean, in a region where fine wines have been produced for over a thousand years.
Food pairing
Excellent with all meat dishes and game. The general rule with all red meat is the leaner the meat, the lighter the wine – this also applies to different cuts of beef or steak, although side dishes and sauces also have to be considered
Grapes: 35% Baga, 30% Castelão, 20% Touriga Nacional, 15% Alfrocheiro
Wine matures 24 months in French 225-liter oak barrels
Harvested on 1 and 2 October 2010. The stable climate without rain allowed that year to harvest later, giving the grapes a better ripening and aromatic expression reflected in the wine
