Deep purple in colour with plenty of black fruit character on the nose and touches of raspberries, ripe plums, blueberries and cloves. Medium bodied on the palate with smooth, ripe tannins, juicy black fruit flavours and a long, succulent finish.
Food pairing
A versatile wine. Delicious with grilled beef or sheep dishes, game, kangaroo, and also lovely with stuffed red peppers with spices
Grapes: 30% Touriga Nacional, 30% Touriga Franca, 30% Tinta Roriz 30% & 10% other red varieties
The grapes were partially destemmed before treading by foot in traditional lagares, a hallmark of Quinta do Infantado wines. Malolactic fermentation took place in tank after which some of the wine was aged in tank and some in oak barrel of various sizes and ages.
