It all started on August 15, 1918, a few months before the truce, when Manoel Dominques Poças junior decided to set up his own company. Manoel was 30 years old and already had some experience in the business and together with his uncle he founded a company on what grapes sold to port shippers. Shortly thereafter, he opened the head office in Vila Nova de Gaia, where they are housed to this day
