Grapes: 100% Alvarinho
The Alvarinho, called Albariño in Spain, is a white grape variety. In the region of Vinho Verde, the grape is the most important, but also in Rias Baixas (Galicia) good wines are produced. The grape has a thick skin and a reasonable yield. The alcohol content of the wines is quite high. The wines have fruity aromas where apple usually has the upper hand. The grape likes a soil of slate or granite
Grapes come from vineyards along the River Minho, at low altitudes, with a high content of pebbles in the soil. All grapes are deprived and receive a short maceration, followed by a long fermentation at low temperatures of 14 to 18ºC in stainless steel tanks. Finally, the wine ages for 3 months on its lees with periodic battonages.
