Grapes: 100% Tinta Francisca (Tinta Franca)
A grape variety for port wine. Formerly called Tinta Francisca. Often confused with Touriga Francesa. Tinta Franca is believed to be a mutant of Pinot Noir, although this has never been fully proven.
Vinified in the Quinta do Seixo winery, from grapes sourced from a vineyard in this region. The harvest is manual and the grapes are selected in the vineyard and at the reception in the cellar. After smooth crushing and total destemplation, the grapes are pumped to the stainless steel vats, where alcoholic fermentation begins. A long and smooth maceration is carried out at a controlled temperature.
Aged in used French oak barrels for a period of approximately 24 months. During the ripening period, it is subjected to numerous tests and analyzes. Filtration only happens before bottling.
