The Quinta owes its name to the wild blackberry bushes (Amoras) which provide a natural fence around the wine farm. The vineyards benefit from the influence of the Atlantic Ocean but are protected by the hills along the coast for strong winds from the sea. In addition to the Portuguese grape varieties Camarate, Tinta Miúda and the Castelão, more internationally known grape varieties have also been planted. The vines are between 25 and 30 years old and grow on a clay and slate-like surface
