Esporão Vinho de Talha 2018 Tinto
Relive and experience the tradition of producing wines in clay pots (amphora). The process goes back to ancient Rome when each house had its own wine production.
Vinified according to age-old customs. A silent wine with a deep ruby color, an intense aroma with clear notes of black fruit compote, stone fruit, and notes of cocoa. Elegant in the mouth with soft tannins, lively acidity, everything in perfect balance. One of the 10 best Portuguese wines from the last decade according to Jancis Robinson
After a dry, cold winter, a rainy spring began, restoring soil moisture levels adequate for the beginning of the vegetative cycle. The fact that spring temperatures, and until mid-summer, were milder than in previous years, meant that the entire cycle suffered some delay, but allowed for a good development of the plants. In early August, a heat wave, with five consecutive days, in which temperatures surpassed 43 degrees, accompanied by strong gusts of wind, caused severe damage to varieties more sensitive to this type of conditions, leading to production shortfalls. However, in most of our vineyards, where varieties better adapted to these climatic events predominate, a slow and regular maturation has developed, ideal for the persistence of the freshness and aromatic intensity of white wines and the texture, concentration and complexity of red wines .
