The second wine from the big "Poeira" from the young winemaker, Jorge Moreira. No other winemaker on the Douro is just as sensitive to tannins as he is; no wonder he was repeatedly declared the best winemaker in Portugal and his wines regularly receive first-class reviews. The Pó de Poeira is a unique Douro table wine that delivers all the right parts in all the right places.
Originating from the younger vines (planted in 2001) and a damn good red wine that thrives on steep slate terraces high above the picturesque town of Pinhao on the Douro. The wine is dark and clear, currants, behind them herbs and spices, vibrant minerality. Cool elegance at first, dark and radiant, also earthy notes on the palate, catchy, concise finish with plenty of fine tannins and fresh acidity. Electrifying. The wine floats over the tongue. Great what Portugal has to offer! Authentic and pure pleasure! How can a red wine from one of the hottest river valleys in the world be so fresh and great ?
Jorge Moreira knows its region, its vines & its climate.
