A lamb pie with mint would be a great pairing. Touriga Nacional stands quite well on its own as a cocktail wine in its boldness. Go for rich fatty foods that can absorb the tannin, but keep the flavor simple (and not too salty) so as not to overwhelm the floral flavors of mint, bergamot, and violet. One way to do this might be to soften the flavors of a main dish with a cream-based side dish, such as a yogurt sauce.
