This delicious JH Andresen Vintage 2011 port wine has a deep black color, primary aromas of elderberry, mulberry, blackcurrant and some mineral notes. The tannins are inherently and subtly present, but they are fine and mature, so everything is as it should be. You must have drunk this wine.
The 2011 harvest, a top year, has been declared vintage by all leading port houses. Such a general declaration is an indication of the extremely high quality for that year. This last happened in 2007. The 2011 wines seem to be made for eternity. The fruit is intense, super ripe and very present. The omnipresent tannins are ripe, round and of a sublime quality. You can drink these wines relatively early, but maturing for 40-50 years is effortlessly achievable. 2011 is compared with the two best post-war harvest years 1994 and 1963.
