The 2015 Vintage Port Wine from Ramos Pinto has been described as, "A wine with attractive aromas, fruit and rockrose, a good body with a long peppery finish. A Vintage which will age for many years." (Ana Rosas, Master Blender). Only 8.000 bottles were produced.
The Vintage is made from a blend of grapes from old vines grown in the Quinta de Ervamoira (Douro Superior) and Quinta do Bom Retiro (Cima Corgo). Grapes from Quinta de Ervamoira produce powerful wines with great structure, fruit intensity and body. Flavours such as crystallised fig or plum are present in the wines, which will have silky tannins to support the ripe, concentrated fruit flavours. On the other hand, fruit harvested from Quinta do Bom Retiro provides extreme complexity, elegance and refinement. The Cima Corgo region is cooler than the Douro Superior, therefore Bom Retiro’s wines are fresher, with aromas of violets, cherry and apricot, supported with a savoury balsamic note.
The result of blending wines from the prestigious Quinta de Ervamoira and Quinta do Bom Retiro vineyards is a Vintage Port with exceptional concentration, complexity, balance and, above all, freshness.
Food pairing
Ideal after meals. Goes very well with strong cheeses such as, Stilton, Gorgonzola, Roquefort, blue cheeses and Portuguese Serra (Portuguese sheep cheese). It can also be served with fruit or chocolate desserts, and fits perfectly with a good cigar.
Grapes: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Francisca, Tinta Barroca, Souzão, Tinto Cão, Tinta Amarela
2015 was an excellent year in the Douro, with a very dry growing season and lower than average rainfall. A dry winter was followed by an atypically warm spring, allowing grapes to ripen fully in time for harvest in late August.

Store & Serve
Store horizontally, at a constant temperature away from intense direct light. Because this wine is still ripening on the bottle, sediment can be formed with time, so that the wine has to be decanted for consumption.
After decanting, the wine will quickly reach its peak and is best consumed during the course of the day.
Drinking between 16º C - 18º C.
