A characterful, classic White Reserve made from a blend of Avesso (the main grape at Covela and throughout the sub-region of Baião), Chardonnay and Arinto. The wine is very expressive, floral with notes of peach, apricot and tropical fruits and good intensity. The complexity comes not only from the 14 months spent ageing in French and Austrian oak barrels, but also from its unique blend of these three, complementary grapes. Against a background of the granitic minerality thet is so typical of this sub-region of the Vinho Verde demarcation on the Douro River, a certain creaminess makes its presence felt and the long and elegant finish cries out for food.

Vinification
Hand picked, lot by lot, soft pressed and then spontaneous fermentation; so without the addition of yeast. The wine will go sur lie until January. Although this wine is made on the banks of the Douro, it is not allowed to bear the name because the domain is just outside the border of the wine region.
This white wine is therefore sold under the appellation "Vinho Verde", but the winemakers prefer to speak of "Douro Verde".
