This vintage port is a blend of 40% Sousao, 15% Touriga Nacional and various native grape varieties. Alves de Sousas port wines represent a different stylistic direction than many others, similar to their red and white wines they rely on elegance, noble restraint and subtlety, for which the understated expansion speaks for itself in only 30% French oak. This is definitely a port to keep, the noble scent of dried figs, nougat and sour cherry is seductive. And, the hallmark of this port, despite all its strength and juicy fruit, it impresses on the palate with an ingenious freshness and a fine mineral vein that meanders through the variety of aromas and leaves a nice, slightly sweet grip on the finish for a long time sticks. Despite the smoky-spicy notes, the hints of nougat, fine dark chocolate, candied orange zest and a hint of dried fruit, this fine wine avoids any extravagance, seems rather calm, round, balanced, very balanced, with a silky texture, and now already incredibly accessible and fresh in his youth
