Barbeito Bastardo Reserva Duas Pipas is a Madeira wine that presents us with a palette of fresh and soft aromas, with floral and fruity notes. In the mouth, it has a creamy taste with precise acidity and an elegant finish.
Very few producers, and especially in Madeira Wine, find in their history such a revolution, as the one that happened to Barbeito. Being a supplier of bulk wines and from one moment to the next becoming a reference in the Madeira Wine region is quite a feat. It all happened in 1991 when Ricardo Freitas joined the family company and decided, together with the Japanese Kinoshita with whom they had joined, to turn Barbeito into one of the most important producers of Madeira Wines.
Food-pairing
It is an excellent aperitif, but is also very tasty with soups, game birds and pâtes
Grapes: Bastardo
This wine was produced from grapes from the vineyards that spread along the south coast of Madeira Island and were pressed in continuous pressing. Interruption of fermentation was induced with the addition of brandy.
Barbeito Bastardo Reserva Duas Pipas, as its name implies, is a wine that results from the combination of two wines, one of tanning of the year 2010 (400 liter) and another of the Open Beak of the year 2012 (700 liiter). The result is an extremely fresh and smooth wine with notes of hay, white raisin, quince, and apricot. In the mouth, it has notes of exotic fruit, balanced acidity, and a smooth and elegant finish.
