Deep amber colored port wine. Delicious complex bouquet of vanilla and coffee. Beautiful in balance with a beautiful character, solid body and lasting finish. A port with a meaning for the Portuguese. The year 1964 is known for the Carnation Revolution (Portuguese: Revolução dos Cravos).
Colheita's are seen as Tawny's of very high quality. Comes from a single harvest and has spent at least 7 years in French oak barrels of approximately 550 liters.
Colheita port wine represents less than 1% of the total annual production of port. Like Vintage, a Colheita port is only released when the best conditions are met and after approval of the IDVP (Instituto dos Vinhos do Douro e do Porto)
