Cartuxa Scala Coeli Tinto Reserva 2019
The wine Scala Coeli (which in Latin means "stairway to heaven") takes its name from the Monastery of Santa Maria Scala Coeli, commonly known as the Carthusian Monastery, where the Carthusian monks lived in silence and prayer. It was produced for the first time in 2011. Being an exceptional wine with a high potential for evolution, it deserved the reserve designation.

Grapes: 100% Alicante Bouschet
Grapes harvested on August 27th. On this day the grapes were carefully harvested and brought to the cellar, where a cold maceration of the pre-fermentation took place, followed by an alcoholic fermentation temperature of 28ºC and prolonged maceration. Completely destemmed. After fermentation in the cellar, the wine aged for 15 months in new French oak barrels and 24 months in the bottle, a decision taken by winemaker Pedro Batista.
