The Flor is the entry-level wine of Quinta de Crasto. Deep ruby in colour. The nose shows fresh floral notes nicely combined with aromas of wild berry fruit. The palate starts with elegance, leading to a wine with good volume and a smooth texture. This is an engaging wine, with a balanced and persistent finish. A very accessible wine. The Flor de Crasto is made to drink young and offers a lot of drinking pleasure.
A fairly new wine from winemaker Miguel Roquette. First made in 2004. In its scent, the wine reminds of the Italian Sangiovese wines or an Argentine Malbec, while purebred Portuguese grapes such as Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca and Touriga Nacional are used. A wine to enjoy throughout the winter with grilled meat or a stew. Very good value for money.
