White Wine

The white wines from portugal are starting to appeal to the public
White wines are usually served cool or chilled. How cool depends on several factors. The type of wine and/or the quality of the wine plays a role. The cooler the wine is consumed, the less the wine can give its flavor. A dry wine tastes great with a salad or fish, but with cheese it is delicious too.
There are of course the famous Vinho Verde but also full-bodied white wines from Douro, cheerful white wines from Bairrada, delicate whites from the Lisbon region, especially Bucelas, and fruity white wines from Alentejo.

The grape varieties used to produce white wines are: Loureiro, Trajadura, Arinto, Avesso, Alvarinho, Malvasia, Gouveio, Viosinho, Bical, Encruzado & Maria Gomes
