A dry Alvarinho wine from specially selected vineyards located in the most northern point of Portugal, Monção and Melgaço, at an altitude of over 150 meters. It is an area of granite origin and in which the minerality is very strong. The fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks
This wine clearly differs, and that is mainly due to the high location of the vineyards, the higher temperature of the fermentation and the longer contact with the lees. The wine is very elegant with clear mineral aromas and a dry and persistent taste. The purity of fruit is very special. The wine is ready to drink but can safely stay in the basement until at least 2029. Great price / quality ratio and no "average"
This gastronomic wine is surprisingly pleasant, fresh and lively. It is one of the most complex wines from the estate but is also remarkably powerful. We like its very noble light oakiness which balances the remarkably balanced acidity. This is a wine that you can enjoy now or for the next 10 years, which will allow the wine to evolve and offer different flavors.
Food-Pairing
Ideal with grilled oily fish dishes such as salmon and seafood, oysters or lobster au gratin, roasted white meat dishes such as salad chicken with almonds. Also delicious with asparagus in butter sauce
Grapes: 100% Alvarinho
The Alvarinho, called Albariño in Spain, is a white grape variety. In the region of Vinho Verde, the grape is the most important, but also in Rias Baixas (Galicia) good wines are produced. The grape has a thick skin and a reasonable yield. The alcohol content of the wines is quite high. The wines have fruity aromas where apple usually has the upper hand. The grape likes a soil of slate or granite and probably has a DNA connection with the Riesling
