Very elegant fragrance. Evolved/tanned color. Well integrated wood that gives it some oiliness. Delicate acidity. Smooth tannins. Very balanced. Delicious !

The Pato family has been producing wine at Quinta do Ribeirinho since the 19th century. XVIII. João Pato started bottling wine from his vineyards in 1970 and became the first producer/bottler in the Bairrada region after its demarcation. His son Luis Pato inherited his maverick and pioneering spirit, and in 1980 he produced his first wine, a single variety of Berry of exceptional quality and absolute rarity, now sought after by connoisseurs as a treasure. In 1985 he started two revolutions in Bairrada: he made red wine from destemmed grapes and aged in new French oak barrels. In 1988 he plants Baga in "pé franco" (ungrafted vines) to understand pre-phylloxera wines and produces the first Vinhas Velhas in the country. In 1990, he first participated as a jury in the International Wine Challenge, a competition he took on as a wine tasting school and a guide to looking at and learning about wines and the volatility of flavors around the world. In the 60 hectares of vineyards, we find the Baga, Touriga Nacional and Tinto Cão varieties planted in the red varieties, and the Maria Gomes, Bical, Cercial da Bairrada and Sercialinho varieties in the white varieties.

Critics & Awards
4,7/5 - Vivino (76 ratings)
89/100 - Wine Enthusiast Tasted: Jan 2004
This is a single-vineyard blend of Baga and Touriga Nacional, making an intensely dense and rich wine, packed with sweet tannins and great ripe fruit. There is a juicy element that suggests it will age relatively quickly, but those dark, dry tannins should give it a long life.
