Amber Colour. Fine and exquisite. Bouquet with woody notes, balsamic / ̈vinagrinho ̈, clove, raisin, black figs, ripe orange peel and layered caramel. The sensation in the mouth is explosive! Citrus flavours highlighting the solid and precise acidity. Pungent finish with an almost endless freshness. A Madeira for everyone with a wild heart beating in their chest!
To celebrate our company’s 75 years of existence, we selected our best old wines from the Verdelho variety to make this small 50 Years old blend. A challenge that Ricardo Diogo posed to himself for the character that the wine he idealized should have. With this wine he wants to pay tribute to all the people who worked in our company in the past and who always gave their best. A thank you also, to those who are here today and contribute daily with their work and knowledge. Of this very special wine, 525 units of 750ml were bottled, all numbered and individually signed. This is the first Verdelho 50 Years Old blend ever made in Madeira, and was a big challenge I have placed myself making it, in just 525 numbered bottles. It’s a great wine, I can assure you (one of the ingredients is the Verdelho 1885 from my grandfather collection).

Store & Serve
Always keep a Madeira wine upright.
The acids of Madeira are so strong that they attack the cork if the bottle is stored lying down
The ideal drinking temperature is 14 - 16 °C. Store dry and cool. Best served at 14ºC or lower room temperature 16ºC. This wine will keep in good condition for several months after opening.
Madeira is a wine matured in an oxidative environment for several years, and then comes into the bottle in a reductive environment. It is therefore useful to open the bottles a few hours in advance. The bottles can then be kept almost unlimited, since the air has no influence on Madeira wines. In fact, the wine tastes better after months - if there is still left - than when the bottle is opened.
