Moscatel do Douro is a dessert wine and comparable in style to the more famous Moscatel de Setúbal, but made from another Moscatel variety called Moscatel Galego.
Gold and a complex and subtle aroma with notes of lime, orange and almond, soft and velvety in taste with a finish reminiscent of honey and fruit jam
The Moscatel Favaios is like a Sauterne or Loupiac, except that it is mainly drunk as an aperitif
Food-Pairing
Moscatel is an ideal aperitif and dessert wine, goes well with almost any type of Portuguese almond, walnut, orange and egg-based desserts, including pudim, the Portuguese version of flan, as well as chocolate, coffee and hazelnut-based desserts.
Grapes: Moscatel Galego Branco (Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains)

Wine producer
The Adega Cooperativa de Favaios winery is located in Favaios, one of the most important municipalities of the Tras-os-Montes wine region. Located in the northeastern corner of Portugal, the Tras-os-Montes region has a wide range of height differences, which in turn results in a large range of different wines. The vineyards in the higher area produce light wines, while the lower vineyards produce full wines
It is not without reason that Favaois is also known as the "Moscatel capital" of Portugal - the Moscatel grapes thrive particularly successfully in this area. Its history dates back to Roman times - the name, Favaios, is a corruption of "Flavius", the founder of a Roman settlement in the region
