Licor Albergaria Amendoa Amarga
Licor de Amêndoa Amarga or also known as Amarguinha, is a traditional Portuguese drink from the Algarve, obtained from an old almond liqueur recipe. Together with the Medronho and Brandymel the most famous liqueur in the Algarve. It is a sweet, strong almond flavored liqueur. It can be enjoyed as an aperitif, digestif or a cocktail. Must be served cold either with some ice cube and a slice of lime or lemon.
The production of the Licor de Amêndoa Amarga starts with a strict selection of the components and ends with an aging period in oak barrels. This gives it the unparalleled aromas and taste. It is still produced according to the original and traditional processes. Amargo means bitter in Portuguese. Amarjito
3/4 lime in wedges
cane sugar
4 to 5 leaves of basil
4 cl Amarguinha
Crushed ice
Put the lime wedges in a glass and add about 2 spoons of cane sugar. Mash this well (think of a mortar). The juices are meant to mix well with the sugar. Then add the basil leaves and the Amarguinha. Fill with ice cubes and place the shaker on the glass. Shake well and remove the shaker. Fill the glass further with spa red and garnish with shaved ice and a straw.

The Quinta achieved the best result ever and that in the 20th edition of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, with gold medals for their wines from all regions.
