This white port is produced from a strict selection of the best white grapes from the region and has a gold-crystalline color. It is a very sweet, tender porto with a nice fruity taste. This wine has all the good features of a portwine, character, body, vigour and traces of fruit and the old oaks in which it matured, but with the freshness and the lightness of a white wine
Lagrima (tears in Portuguese), was introduced by Ramos Pinto, but in the meantime has been included in the range by all the large port wine houses. This is the sweetest of all portwines, about 136 grams per liter. To compensate the sweet taste, white, extremely ripe grape varieties are used to harmonize the sweet and fruity flavors.
It is produced by a cold shell maceration prior to the normal fermentation method. Through these processes it gains strength and body as well as very complex, almost exotic flavors. The aftertaste is full and long
