Niepoort launched its first Rosé in 1999, which shows that a good quality wine can also be rosé in color. Redoma Rosé is a balanced wine to enjoy with meals or just during a hot summer day. It has the freshness of a white wine and the complexity and structure of a red wine. This edition is lighter in color, and is reminiscent of the rosé from Provence
The Redoma Rosé 2020 embodies the elegance, structure and acidity that the mica-schist soils of the Douro are able to express.
Its brilliant pale salmon hue is reminiscent to that of a classic Provence Rosé. On the nose, delicate aromas reveal hints of flowers, red berries and currants as well as toasted and hazelnut nuances which lend the wine further complexity and character.
The palate offers good acidity and a light structure, ending on a dry and spicy finish. This is a beautifully crafted Rosé with excellent balance and good cellaring potential.
