Duas Quintas stands for the two vineyards where this wine comes from, namely Quinta de Ervamoira and Quinta dos Bons Ares.
The grapes are harvested by hand, after which they are separated in small crates by grape variety and vineyard. The grapes are then taken to the vinification center where they are pressed, destemmed and fermented in steel barrels at a maximum of 25ºC. Maceration is just long enough to give the wine the desired body and structure. After malolactic fermentation in barrels, 20% is aged in French oak barrels, 30% in casks and vats of the same type of wood and the remaining 50% in stainless steel vats for 12 months.
