This wine has a deep ruby red color. It is an intense, complex and elegant wine. The notes of ripe black and red fruits, the delicate floral nuances and the notes of the forest to give freshness are very well incorporated in a set where the barrel aging only adds more complexity. In the mouth it is harmonious and balanced, with soft tannins that give structure and strength to the wine. There are still aromas of the forest along with the fruit in the long and lingering finish.
Food-Pairing
This incredibly gourmet wine is perfect for meals and goes well with slightly fatty dishes, such as octopus "à lagareiro" or red meat from the oven. It is also an ideal accompaniment to typical Portuguese dishes such as an oven-roasted pork neck or a miscaros risotto.
Grapes: 100% Touriga Nacional
The grapes were harvested by plot into 20 kg crates and selected on arrival at the winery, the Touriga Nacional grapes were directly off-loaded into the de-stemmer-crusher. The grape juice gravity fed into small stainless steel tanks, equipped with automatic pumping-over, where alcoholic fermentation took place for about a week, at an average temperature of about 28ºC. They remained in post-fermentation maceration for another 20 days. Malolactic fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks, followed by a 12-month maturation in new, French oak, fine-grain barrels from 8 French cooperages. Throughout the maturing process numerous tastings were performed in order to monitor the wines' evolution after which the blend was prepared, fined, filtered and bottled.
Store & Serve
Keep in a cool, dry place. Serve at between 16ºC-18ºC. This wine should be decanted after 4-5 years of age. This wine has great ageing potential and will evolve positively for the next 15 years, if stored in good conditions. Ideally, the bottle should be opened an hour before serving so that the wine can breathe and present itself at its best.

It is intensely red in colour. It has a generous bouquet which includes red fruits and floral notes, especially violet, so typical of this variety, freshened by warm spicy hints and underpinned by harmonious, integrated oak notes. Its palate has a surprisingly fresh attack and shows a fine acidity, with well-rounded but lively tannins, that culminates in a well-balanced and elegant finish.
