This modern white wine is the perfect marriage between the grapes Viogner, Verdelho, Sauvignon Blanc and Viosinho. Bright yellow color, aromas of citrus, apricot and tropical fruit. Fruity in the mouth, a good acidity and a fruity balance in the aftertaste.
Periquita, the oldest wine brand in Portugal, is a must for all lovers of this region. Portuguese wine house Jose Maria da Fonseca has been producing this quality wine for more than 150 years.
The history of Periquita is intertwined with the history of José Maria da Fonseca, from the 1820s, when the company's founder, José Maria da Fonseca, arrived in Lisbon and bought several local properties. One such purchase, probably in 1846, was Cova da Periquita. On this site, José Maria da Fonseca planted red grapes of the catelão variety, which he probably brought from the province of Ribatejo. While we are not sure when the first crop was produced, we do know for sure that Periquita was produced as early as 1850. Periquita is now the oldest Portuguese table wine brand and has gained great popularity over the years in Portugal and export markets such as Sweden, Brazil, UK, USA, Canada, Denmark and Norway
