Dao - Quinta do Ribeiro Santo

Winemagnum was founded in 2011 by the fact that two major winemakers, although their initial different backgrounds: Carlos Lucas wine maker in the Dão since 1996, and Carlos Rodrigue's wine maker in the Bairrada, hit hands together.

Both names are associated with Dão Sul, one of the largest wine companies in Portugal. This company produces top rosé, white, red and sparkling wines from all prestigious Portuguese wine regions such as DAO, Douro, Bairrada, Alentejo, Lisbon and Vinho Verde.

Some renowned wineries are Quinta das Tecedeiras, Quinta do Encontro, Quinta de Cabriz and Casa de Santar.

Quinta do Ribeiro Santo, located in Carregal Sal, purchased in 1994 and restored by Carlos Lucas, with the aim of producing wine with its own personality.

It was an ancient property of the local priest, surrounded by a stream of water flowing throughout the year, thus giving it the name "Quinta do Ribeiro Santo", which means as much as holy river.

The vineyard is planted with local varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro, Tinto Cão and Encruzado. The first bottles of wine came on the market in 2000. The Dão wines are strongly influenced by the granite-rich suburbs of the region. The wines also grate their splendor to the fact that many vineyards are surrounded by pine forests, eucalyptus and oaks.
