Quinta Do Casal Vinha do Tojal 2016 Red
Excellent aromatic complexity, with an emphasis on fine spicy notes, in perfect harmony with soft red fruits and fresh forest aromas.
A captivating start, which develops into a wine with excellent volume and serious structure, composed of powerful tannins, but with a very fine texture. All in perfect harmony with the fresh, retro-nasal notes of wild berries. It ends seductively with enormous elegance and excellent persistence. A unique wine that fully reflects the complexity and identity of the centuries-old Tojal vineyard
A limited edition of 1775 bottles, all signed by the owner, José Lobo de Vasconcelos. This first edition of Vinha do Tojal is a tribute to Dª Sophia, his mother, who took over the entire family business in the 1980s, when there was a huge transformation in the entire agricultural sector and wine was no exception.
Food pairing
The perfect wine with game dishes, stews and rich cheeses.

Manual harvest in 15 kg plastic boxes. At the entrance to the winery, all the grapes were manually selected on the sorting table. The alcoholic fermentation took place in a small stainless steel tank at a controlled temperature. After the fermentation was complete, the must with the grape skins remained in the tank for another 20 days. Then it was gently pressed and transferred to French oak barrels (225 liters).
Matured for 24 months in oak barrels. Unfiltered. Stabilization occurred naturally through prolonged maturation in barrels. It was aged in the bottle for 3 years before being released on the market.
