1981 Barbeito Verdelho Vintage Madeira 50 cl medium dry
Gives a fruity style with a nice balance between acidity and sweetness and does not have the high acidity of sercial. Nose dried fruit, some nutty and honey, sometimes coffee and chocolate in the taste.
Food-pairing
Is an excellent aperitif

Store & Serve
Always keep a Madeira wine upright.
Madeira's acids are so strong that they attack the cork if the bottle is stored lying down
Serving: 18 ° C
Madeira is a wine that has matured in an oxidative environment for several years, before being bottled in a reductive environment. It is therefore useful to open the bottles a few hours in advance. The bottles can then be stored almost indefinitely, as the air no longer affects Madeira wines. In fact, the wine tastes better after months - if there is still left - than when opening the bottle.

This Frasquiera (vintage) Madeira is quite a dark, burnished tawny colour. Nice high-toned, nutty and slightly volatile note on the nose, with quite bright orange fruit and a little dried peel quality. On the palate there is a nutty, almost salty tanginess here, though a richer toffee note starts to build on the mid palate. The fruitiness is orangy and has a marmalade quality, with plenty of grapefruit pith and lemon zest acidity sweeping in and giving a real edge to the long, shimmering finish.
