Quinta das Bageiras Chumbado Reserva 2015
A red wine made from Baga and Touriga Nacional whereby the accent in the aroma is on red fruit. In the beginning it is not an easy wine to drink, but as you continue to taste, you realize that this austere wine has a medium body with balanced tannins and a lively acidity that makes you want to taste a second glass soon. A true work of art
Chumbado means, failed, failed exam (academic jargon). The name was choosen due to the rejection of the wine by the Bairrada Tasting Board. Today the company is led by Mario Sérgio Nuno, who has a great admiration for his grandfather Fausto and a deep respect for his father, Abel. Mario Sérgio is fascinated by the Champagne region and defender of Bairrada until the last drop. He is a vigneron who refuses to water the vineyard and guarantees to know where to plant Baga, one of the most exciting Portuguese producers today. The history of Quinta das Bágeiras is due to the work of 3 generations, but only in 1989, and under the authority of Mario Sérgio, did the wine really become known and sold under the name Quinta das Bágeiras
