Quinta do Noval Vinhas da Marka 2019 Red
€ 195.00
Terroir Series is a new range launched by Quinta do Noval, an opportunity to explore specific terroirs that have been identified as exceptional.
A few years ago, Quinta do Noval signed an agreement with the Agrellos family for the leasehold of the Quinta da Marka vineyard, which we had identified as having a terroir with exceptional potential for the production of quality wines. This potential was revealed by the excellent red wines produced at Quinta da Marka during the 2019 harvest. These were so remarkable that we decided to release a very limited volume of Vinhas da Marka 2019 from a plot of 1 1/2 old vines. .45 hectares in the heart of Marka. Planted in the 1930s, these ancient vines are a blend of over 30 different traditional grape varieties. Quinta do Noval Vinhas da Marka is wonderfully complex and seductive, aromatic and fine, with ripe fruit, minerality, subtle foliage and creamy vanilla notes. It has sophistication and elegance and is refreshing at the same time. The velvety texture, mouth-watering acidity and impeccable balance ensure a long finish.

This single-vineyard wine comes from a parcel whose origins date back to the 18th century. A field blend has produced a rich, complex wine. Wood aging added to the wine's ripeness and gives a spice character while the open lagar fermentation has smoothed some of the wine's tannins. It will need to age further, so drink this impressive wine from 2026.
